The primary purpose of this book is to present quantitative forecasting of the mid-term probability of large earthquakes both globally and over various regions of the world.? The author used the novel seismic activity regression formula to calculate the probability of an earthquake, in the global and major seismic zones, with any given magnitude at any given time since the most recent earthquake of the same magnitude. This book is the author's 50+ years accumulation of achievements in researching and teaching geophysics and seismology for mitigation of earthquake disasters. 陸取消3247噸訂單 衝擊美豬65億出口市場
中美貿易戰火重燃，為了報復，大陸取消了3247噸的美豬訂單，由於美國豬肉40%靠出口，出口當中60%是外銷到大陸和香港，因此這次大陸大砍美豬訂單，無疑將對美國豬農產生影響，而大陸也因為非洲豬瘟的雙重影響，豬肉價格大幅上揚。
中美貿易戰持續，根據路透社的報導，大陸從二月開始連續三個月總共取消了3247噸的美國豬肉進口訂單，由於大陸和香港是美豬的第二大出口市場，自從大陸爆發非洲豬瘟後，美國農業部一直期望美豬能外銷到大陸，如今因為中美貿易戰導致訂單生變。
美國伊利諾州農場主人約翰.基夫納：「中美貿易戰讓美國大豆價格非常低，那些種植大豆的農民們今年很有可能會賠本。」
其實自從去年爆發非洲豬瘟，大陸豬肉價格目前一斤69元台幣，比今年年初漲了8熱賣商品新上市.9%，比去年同期漲了45.8%，但為了報復美國還是大砍美豬進口訂單。
大陸國家發改委新聞發言人孟瑋：「受到了非洲豬瘟疫情和豬周期等多重因素的疊加影響，後期生豬和豬肉的價格可能會有一定幅度的上漲。」
另外美國大豆也是中美貿易談判中的重要籌碼，去年大陸降低了49%的美國進口大豆，今年藉由補貼，擴大東北、黃淮海和西南地區的大豆種植面積因應。
大陸食品土畜進出口商會副會長于露：「巴西提高了(大豆)的種植面積，俄羅斯也會在短期內有一個非常快的增長，當然一帶一路沿線的(參與)國家，包括非洲的許多國家，他們的大豆事實上也是帶著有機的標籤而來的。」
除此之外，大陸還減少東南亞國家大豆進口的關稅，以及研究飼料蛋白的配置，全面彌補美國大豆減少對民生的重大影響。
